Mabuhay Gardens (The Mab / On Broadway)

Mabuhay Gardens (The Mab / On Broadway) is a historic 12,000 sq ft two-level cultural venue in San Francisco's North Beach, reopened in 2025 as a community-owned cultural institution. Originally the 1976–1988 birthplace of West Coast punk (hosting Dead Kennedys, Iggy Pop, Ramones, Metallica, Guns N' Roses, Soundgarden, Jerry Garcia, Red Hot Chili Peppers, plus Robin Williams, Whoopi Goldberg, Dave Chappelle, Allen Ginsberg, and Louis Armstrong), it now serves as a multi-format community space. Two stages: The Mab (250 cap, 21+) and On Broadway (450 cap, all ages), with ~700 cap buyouts across both levels. Genres hosted: rock, punk, indie, hip-hop, jazz, electronic, comedy, spoken word, experimental, drag, Latin/salsa/bachata, swing, and karaoke.
